Elvis Presley Heights - About Us

"NOW THE STORY"

The Beginning:

Elvis Presley Heights Memorial Gardens Cemetery

and
"Fans Forever Memorial Wall"

It all begins in August 1987. We were watching TV and individuals from around the world were paying tribute to the 10th anniversary of "Elvis Presley's" death.

We noticed how many people loved him from around the world. A lady was interviewed by the media and asks how long she had been a fan. The lady replied, "For as long as she could remember". Then the media ask how long will she be a fan and the lady replied, "Forever until I die".

This generated our first concept. This was to do somethig for "special" for "Elvis fans" around the world.

However, we had to come up with the right project and the right "Locatio, location, and location" and it had to be somehting in honor and association with Elvis.

Our first concept was to open a private "cemetery" and market it for Elvis fans to be buried in a cemetery associated with Elvis' name forever.

In our search for the right location, we looked in Orlando, Florida, Memphis, Tennessee, and Tupelo, Mississippi.  We found 15.6 acres of land in Tupelo, Mississippi, called, "Elvis Presley Heights", and contracted the land in March of 1992, however we did not close on the purchase until many years later on January 24th, 2003.

This land had been named "Elvis Presley Heights", by the City of Tupelo in August of 1977.

Another of our ideas happened one day while sitting at a restaurant, across the street from Graceland.  We watched individuals write their names on the wall in front of Graceland. The next day we were eating lunch and watched a power washing machine wash all the names off the wall in front of Graceland.

We couldn't believe our eyes that these individuals' had saved their hard earned money, travel so far, and wrote their names on the walls in front of Graceland, only to have their names washed off as though people it meant nothing to Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc.?

This is when we came up with the idea to create the "Fans Forever Memorial Wall".  We would charge individuals to have their names engraved on a granite wall, which is material like the "Vietnam Memorial Wall", in Washington, D.C. is constructed out of.

Then our search was on for the perfect location to construct the first section of the "Fans ForeverMemorial Wall".

We wanted to see how many true "die-hard" "Elvis fans", would follow our "dream" and have their "individual name and/or names, and/or fan club's names" engraved on the "Fans Forever Memorial Wall".

We decided to construct the first section of the Elvis', "Fans Forever Memorial Wall", on the  15.6 acres of land know as "Elvis Presley Heights".

This land is one of the many places where Elvis Presley played on as a child.

On January 24, 2003 we closed on the purchase of the land and started cleaning it up and cllearing it for development and construction.

In June of 2006, the 1st, 8 ft. high and 10 ft. long section of the "absolute black granite memorial wall" was constructed.

Now that this phase I was completed the memorial wall was ready for "Elvis fans" to "place their name orders" for their "names" to be "engraved" on the "Fans Forever Memorial Wall".

Elvis fans, we've done our part.  Now we need for you to show the world how many Elvis fans will have their names engraved on the "Fans Forevr Memorial Wall?

Let you the fans and us, make this the largest memorial dedicated in the memory of "Elvis Presley"?

Now it takes you, the Elvis fan to make the tribute in Elvis' memory become a reality.

Thank You,  Thank You, Thank You Very Much, as Elvis would say.

Sincerely

Bill & Linda Kinard
